problem with weathertech digitalfit mats

on the drivers side the mat likes to catch the clutch pedal if i press to far on it. I've taken that one out because i hate having to worry everytime i shift if it's going to catch, has anyone else riun into this problem?

 

Everyone with a manual does. The fix is simply to take a razor and cut out a few square inch area where the clutch pedal lands. Then you are golden.

Call weather tech? Since their product guide that comes with the mats says if it interferes with the pedals you should call them immediately...

 

I only had to cut about a 1/4" of height from the area by the clutch and just slightly wider than the pedal. No interference problems since. Its not noticeable unless you've got your head under the dash and it does not affect the function of the mats. A good sharp utility knife works great for the trim.

 

YA i just cut mine around the clutch. I love mine! spill a drink on the floor no worries it goes on the mat, just pull it out and clean it off! your carpet is still clean. Biggest advantage is the winter with all that salt and ****

 

Cut and working fine now. I bought them for the winter and it was a good investment!

 

Ahh. Thanks. Not many manuals out there, but still... seems like they could fix that.

 

Their website states that they're only for autos. I called them and asked if they were ever going to mold one that didn't hang on the clutch and they told me to pound sand (figuratively speaking of course).

 

Trim small amounts off until it clears, and then trim a little more. I did this with mine.

 

Hmmm? Mine never has been trimmed nor has it ever caught on the pedal......in 2 different 5 speed 2nd gens. But yes, give it some trim, it'll love ya for it.

 

mine is manual it works fine. just trim it

 

Yep I cut mine the clutch pedel would catch, my problem is they have no grip when getting in.
My foot slips on the plastic (poly/whatever) when it's cold & wet or snow.
Crap man almost landed on my ass good thing I had a good grasp of the piller handle.
