When I had asked my dealer about the fan noise a while back, they had asked me which vent it was coming out of. I said I couldn't pin-point it cause it sounds like multiple ones and he said when I figure it out to let them know.

However, from the TSB it seems like there' only one blower motor. Is this correct? I'm guessing there is since I still hear the noise when I put the vent on "feet only".

Any guys doing this themselves? I'm still under warranty but if the parts not expensive or hard to get/install then I might go down the DIY part.

If out of warranty, you can get the part on Amazon. Make sure it is the latest upgrade model. Easy replacement. Unplug modular lead and unfasten 3 bolts. Unit drops down and replace. Easy peasy.

Old thread but just what I was looking for. Dealer has blown this off 3 times as leaves in blower. Finally contacted general manager who will get it fixed.

So what about those of us who are out of warranty? Amazon says that part is 100 bucks.... Too much for me

My dealer replaced the fan under warranty the first time. They replaced it this time at 56000 miles at no charge after I called Toyota Customer Service. They researched how often I use dealer service then authorized the repair. I hope the new and different part number for the fan means it won't happen again.

I've been to the dealer 3 times about this, each time I get some BS about a stuck leaf or a lubed bearing. This time I contacted the general manager and the customer relations manager and referenced this TSB. Instant service and replaced the fan.
