Billstein .85 cv joint problems

If you have front billsteins set at .85 will you still have problems wearing out your cv joints? I know 1.75 you will.

 

I have it at. 85 and the angle seems good to me.

 

At .85" you shouldn't have any problem.
Alot of people are even running 1.75" with no issus, but then some have had problems.

These trucks don't seem to like increased angles in the drive lines.
But .85" doesn't change it much. I personally would not worry about it.
at 1.75" I'd keep an eye on it and add a Diff drop kit if needed.

Maybe others that have been running on .85" for a while will chime in.....

I've got my billsteins set at 0.85 and have about 20000 on the truck since I put them on with no problems.

 

I'm at 1.75 for 15k and no problems here

 

What is the ideal angle of the cv axel?

 

You should be pretty safe under 2", even at the 2.5. 3" is the grey zone, some have problems, some dont.

Diff drops don't do anything on 2nd gens

 

The joint itself is not likely to wear out due to the lift. You may have issues with the CV boots wearing due to touching, but this is easily fixed by stretching and reclamping the boot even just half an inch.
