Hey guys, I have to sell my truck. Before I take it to CarMax, I thought I might see if anyone here would be interested in buying it. I would much rather sell to a Tacoma enthusiast. There are some more pictures in my gallery and, of course, in my signature.

But sorry to hear you have to get rid of it!

Looks like a real nice truck, sucks that you have to get rid of it.

    Good luck with the sale!

Dude don't take it to Carmax unless you enjoy getting kicked in the balls. Stick the damn thing on Auto Trader and sell it to a private buyer

That is definitely the other downside to going with CarMax.

I spent over $10K in upgrades which just means CarMax will offer even less because they feel a lift depreciates the value...they prefer stock looking vehicles.

Part it out, Carmax will not take into account your mods and you will lose money.

For what its worth, I sold my 2007 Nissan Sentra SE-R with 600 miles to Carmax for exactly what I paid for it one month after purchasing it. Bought the Taco the next day.

Im with Khaos here... sell what you can off of it and then sell it. That's the only way you'll get most of your money back. I'm sorry to hear that you're selling it as well. I will say this, I would like the Muth Mirrors but that's just me. :D Good luck. You didn't mention why, buy I'm sure its personal. Hope you are still on the forums.

No they dont. They love customized vehicles, they just tell you that so that they have a reason to kick you in the balls; and yours will sell there fast and theyll probably add the 10k you added in mods to the price tag. For what its worth they offered me 8k for a fully loaded Volvo with low miles. I sold it for 11,500 private. Dont go to carmax.

Carmax will rip you off man. I had a 2003 Tacoma and they offered me $8,000 for it. I put it on craigslist and sold it in 3 weeks for $12,500!

Guys, keep in mind that they are going to offer a bit low, but thats how retail works. If they paid you market value, they dont make any money... Its pretty normal for any retail reseller of products to offer significantly lower than retail value - thats how they keep the store open.

Its not a junk-punch, its business.

    I agree - it's just business.

OP... I would take it there only as a last resort! That truck shouldn't be too difficult to sell on your own. Best of luck!

The muth mirrors are one of my favorite mods on my truck!! I definitely recommend them!! The bi-color ones help people see you when you're braking, too!

75 mile round trip commute to work everyday... FML. Things have changed and I can't justify the gas bill each month any longer.
