These do not stick far out, so if you do not wish to hit them they are easy to clear. I've noticed some of my passengers will use it tho to get out.

At first I didn't use them since just as OP, it was for my fam and I'm 6'2". But now I use them to get in too. I got them on this site for $290 shipped, looks like it's still available.

    http://www.truckcustomizers.com/products/smittybilt-nerf-steps/60-T0678CC.html#options

They say they are Smittybuilt, but same part number. They will still show up with n-fab on the steps.

    holy thread revival.

I will try to answer some of these questions:

    1) I paid around $300, forgot how much exactly lol, i posted it somewhere. I found a killer deal online, then had 4WP price match and had it next day. My local store is awesome.

    2) They took about a week to get used to, in terms of remembering they are there. At first i didn't use them, after a week, i use them everyday now.

    3) They are slowly growing on me, I get nothing but compliments about them lol, even though I'm not a huge fan, personally.

    4) wife hasn't bitched once about getting in the truck, sine i put these on. (let me emphasize, not bitching about getting in the truck, everything else is very much free game to bitch about).

    5) They are a good gloss. Not too much like 69 chevelle, but not dull.

    Hope this info helps.

I call shenanigans on your signature pic. No way a stock truck could do that and be ok. lol. I'd even hate to be the driver. Landing wouldn't be fun.

Thanks for the info. Thats one reason I took my oem step rails off. They were in the way and were really too high to use to step into my truck. But my little ones need some steps to get in out though.

Since the wife required them, did she chip in so you didn't have to drain the mod money? Tough one...

They look great! Mine isn't lifted but my son has a tough time getting in and out. If I were to get anything, I would get the same steps. Still undecided.

How long did it take you to install and is it a lot easier to put them on with two compared to one person? Just got the call that mine are in for pickup at 4Wheel Parts and planning on doing mine this weekend.

Chip in? LOL, are you kidding me? This dipped into my gears/locker money.

Then, two weeks ago, I had to drop a grand on wheels/tires for her box....

    Chip in... pshh...

    Cost of doing business.

I would recommend them. They have a small footprint. I like the 2" over the 3". They look great, very durable and practical. good luck.

I'm sure somebody is going to say "you can do it alone".... sure you can, but use help if you got it.

Took me 30 min or so solo in the dark. Use an extra set of hands, because at like 5+ feet long, you can use somebody to hold the bars on one end while you line up the holes on the other. We are talking two companies here (Toyota/NFAB) and matching up their products. The holes lined up close, but not precise.

    Hope that helps.

Do the N-Fabs offer any protection from the parking lot door dingers? I like the N-Fabs but want some protection from the people who don't give a shit about other peoples property. I can't tell if they stick out and offer any protection or not. I know a set of sliders will stick out and offer that protection but since it is my daily driver it is a little overkill. Plus the wife will like the step that the N-Fabs have.

My wife says the same thing. Now if I can just piss her off enough so she tells me to get it lifted I will be good to go. Im not holding my breath.

I have the S/S Step Tube that came with the truck. Like someone said, they are not very practical as they are only a few inches lower than the door sill. My wife says she prefers not to use them because it's harder to get in. I have someone interested in buying them for $300 and I'm thinking of the NFAB or Go Rhinos.

My question is: Are the step bars that much lower than the OEM's and do they make it easier to get in/out?
