I have a brand new 2012 tacoma. This is the second time I found my fuel pump staying on an hour after I turned the truck off. Has anyone noticed this problem? I want to get it fixed but I am afraid the dealer wont be able to duplicate the problem. Let me know what yall think! Thanks

Best bet is to try to duplicate it at the dealer, otherwise maybe it's normal? I think if it wasn't the fuel pump would go out before warranty expires I think anyway.

Perhaps this is what you hear? From the owner's manual page 24...

"Approximately five hours after the engine is turned off, you may hear sound coming from under the vehicle for several minutes. This is the sound of a fuel evaporation leakage check and, it does not indicate a malfunction."

I just witnessed this over the weekend. After starting the engine then turning it off, the sound went away. It sure sounds just like a running fuel pump though. It really got my attention.
