Has anyone installed and used this tailgate extender? It's a great design because it folds, flips over the tailgate and is removeable. The company apparently is out of business but some units are on ebay. They're meant to fit 1st gens (some posts in that forum), but look like they could be adapted for the 2nds. I think I can make it work, but looking for ideas. Link to the company website:

No money, all went to truck...
There are some online available. Somebody else was asking about them. They only thing I didn't like was you had to screw a bar across your tailgate.

A bit late to the game and couldn't resist

My truck: 2002 Toyota Tacoma extended cab

I bought an insta-gate around 2010. The company had gone out of business, I found it on ebay, if I remember around $100. When the box arrived it was tattered and looked like it had been subject to water damage:eek:.
Inside the insta-gate was in perfect condition. It mounted up easily in 15min.
I used the insta-gate when hauling my KTM dirtbike, for more than 10 years. The only issue is that the webbing is starting to degrade from uv exposure, otherwise its performed as designed and I wish that I could buy one for my '06 Tacoma.

Great product too bad its not made anymore.

I had one.... I used it for like 3 years. Worked great. Biggest gripe is the nylon strapping gets gunked up and here in AZ, the UV absolutley killed it. The stuff just fell apart. Now it all sits in my garage till I can figure out someone who can replace the straps.
