What is this?

I know its a relay but don't know what its for. It looks aftermarket but I'm the only owner and I didn't install it. Any ideas on what it's for?

 

Haha I thought it was yellow if their yellow relays its your airbags..

What are those two black screws in your plastic ?

 

You guys don't have this? It doesn't seem to be connected to anything but one black wire that was spliced to the negative of the relay.

 

No. Bought it june 2006.

 

Looks like part of a dealer-installed alarm. If you didn't opt for it, they didn't install the rest of it when you took delivery.

 

I would not worry about it's not active.

 

That's where you attach the flux capacitor.

 

its an aftermarket gps tracking device. someone wants to know where you are at ALL times. not cool...

 

Looks to me like the electrical connection for a trailer brake controller. Many mount a controller in that area, it's the right number of wires, and many controller mounts would match the two nearby screws.

 

Something weird is going on there if you are the original owner - those two screws are not from the factory.

Almost certainly a dealer installed anti-theft device. I've had other cars that had them. First they install it and then try to sell it to you. If you say no they yank it out and leave their quality craftsmanship behind.

I have two of those relays in my truck in approx. same area.They were there after I had alarm and remote start installed.

 

This is what happen. I went to the dealer and thats what they basically said.

 

And after you speed to 85 mph and see what happens. Maybe it's a sign.
