295 on a 2nd gen with 3" lift, can it be done?

Im trying to fit some 295/65/r18 goodyear duratracs on my taco but not sure if it can be done without hitting the ucas too bad of if its even possible. i dont mind trimming a little bit to help them clear. whats yalls thoughts?

 

well 275's rub a little... Im sure it will fit, but it will rub pretty bad unless you stick to the mall.

you will need aftermarket wheels or wheel spacers and alot of triming, including the Cab Mount chop.. which is really easy to do.

It is doable, just takes a bit of triming...

 

I'm running 275/65/r16 duratracs on stock wheels with no issues

 

Thanks guys. Yeah I think I'm going to go with the fuel kranks 18" with the 295 duratracs. I read blacktacoma23's build page and he's running 295s with 17" kmcs. He didn't have to do a body mount chop but he did have to do a lot of trimming inside the fender well. I'll also probably remove my sway bars and put in a high clearance skid plate

 

be prepared to do a lot of cutting.

go wheel and see where you need to cut

then wheel again and cut some more....

 

I can fit a 315 you can fit a 295.

im running 305-70-16's

only thing that rubs is the cab mount. (i did cut the bottom of the fender flare to make em work.)

eagle alloy rims...(backspacing does wonders)

 

295/70/17 on stock sport wheels with 1.25'' spacers. had to chop and re-box the cab mount as you would with 285s, but did have to tim more off of the fender than normal. if you're going to be operating the truck throughout the suspension's range of motion, lift height doesn't have a thing to do with clearance. at full compression, if doesn't matter if you have 3 inches of lift or are at stock height. with the same wheel setup, you'll have the same clearance issues.

 

thanks for your help guys, i think ill prolly just end up going 285/75/r17. less trimming and its cheaper!
