All Pro U Bolt Flip Kit question

    Nope, its just a bracket that cups the axel. Shock mounts are on the axel I believe. Never really paid much attention...

    Ah. That's convenient. 1st gens need to weld on new shock mounts to the rear axle for a U-bolt flip. I just figured they were all the same.

    I double checked today, the shock mounts are welded to the axel.

    Bought the AP flip kit but they're out of stock til Friday.

    Bummer because I'm installing sliders on Wed, was hoping to tack the bump stops to the new plate in the process. (relying on my uncle for the welder/welding)

    So the supplied nuts for my flip kit have a dimple in the side which acts a lock nut, it is a pain to get threaded down. If you know how much thread you can loose, I'd suggest cutting the u-bolt down.

    I used a set of Tibrens. Other options are drilling the stock bumpstop or Wheeler Super Bumps. Also I have seen someone on here use poly bushing that is mounted to the frame.

    You could weld the stock bump stop to the flip kit plate, but not the stock ubolt plate to the flip kit plate. The stock one goes under the axel, and the flip kit goes on top of the leafs. It would serve no purpose at all.

    Can anyone confirm that both the stock and All Pro nuts on the flip kit are 22mm?

    I need to buy a deep socket...

    Stock and all pro are the same size. 7/8 is what I used. Seemed like the right size. I dont have a 22mm to verify.

    I went to the FLAPS.

    22mm deep socket seems to fit perfectly.

    The AP nuts are standard 7/8" but a 22mm is only .009" smaller, so most 22 mm sockets should still fit

    Thread revival. Sorry. I tried installing my all pro flip kit today and ran into the same issue. Can't tighten the nut by hand past 1/2" and it is incredibly difficult still with my 90 ft/lb cordless ratchet. From what I'm reading here I need to lubricate the threads first and it will be much easier?
