You can usually solve rear driveline problems by pumping more money into the setup (i.e. Tom Wood one-piece driveshaft).

Flipping the driveshaft will usually take care of rear vibes. I've read that regular cabs also don't need the CB Drop kit?

OME 885, bilstein 5100, TC UCAs, AAL, u bolt flip w/ timbrens, have 305 50 on 20" BMFs, also have 285s on FJ 16s.. Had a minor vibe between 20-25 mph, barely noticeable. Took off my u bolt flip & reinstalled, vibes gone and 0 issues after 2k miles.

There is no carrier bearing in the regular cabs. I think that may be part of the problem. Most are starting to believe that flipping the driveshaft only moves the noise far enough away from the cab so you don't hear it anymore. I actually finally gave up and took the lift off. I lowered the Bilsteins down to 1.75 and am happy at a level stance and no noises nor vibes.

I listen to all the negative comments on this site and thought twice about lifting my truck. Broke down and bought the 3" Pro Comp and it's been the best thing I've done to my truck. Would recommend it to anyone.

Toytec Ultimate with Bilstein Coilovers, UCA's, Diff Spacer, Sway bar relocator, AAL and new Bilstein in the back......no problems.....a little more money than some, but you get quality that is designed to work with the geometrics of the truck...

same lift I have. I love It! Have you done any serious off roading with it yet? I've only done easy to moderate stuff and it has performed awesome.

Love my 6" lift - although the VSC kicks on sometimes...kind of annoying. If you have a 2009 or older, beware.

People who understand the issues don't have problems, so it's not random. I've got 2" in the front and 3" in the back with no vibrations anywhere, but that was no accident.

I think any front lift over 2" on these trucks is asking for trouble. The rear can go 3. Problems can occur at any lift though so it's a risk you just have to accept.

    Yep, this.

There's always the possibility of unintended consequences. That's one of the best reasons to do your own work - if it's messed up, you know where to put the blame, and who has to do the fix.

By and large, folks tend to have "small" issues after lift, not big ones.

Tire rubbing... Vibrations... Alignment... minor and annoying VSC increase in sensitivity... Speedo a bit off, and power a bit less due to oversize overweight wheels and tires...

For a regular cab to have an absolute minimum chance of issues, I'd mount 5100s on the front set at 1.75", and 5100s with 1.5" Add-a-leaf in back, and run 265/75R16 tires on the stock wheels. You might not even need to remove mud flaps and trim plastic, but don't be surprised if you do.

If you're feeling more bold, I'd go OME 884 springs and shocks, with a 1/2" top plate spacer and light-racing upper control arms in front, and Dakar leaf replacement and OME shocks in the rear, 285/70R17 tires on 17x8 rims with 0mm offset. Expect to do a cab mount chop for tire clearance.

To get the most out of this configuration for off-loading, you'll quickly find you want to install sliders, a rear locking differential, and invest in some recovery gear. But those are "add-ons" not "problems."

I'm doing this, except i'm going to do 16x8 Mickey Thompson Classic Locks with 285/75/16 Goodyear Duratracs.

Also, I'm going to wait for ECGS's drivers side bushing to come out and install that first, then do the lift. Then eventually I'll do 4.88's and an arb in the rear. That's phase two.

I did this and installed it myself. I have not had any problems. The only thing that went wrong was I picked too big of a tire. I put 285/70/17s on my stock 17'' rim and didnt think about the clearance issues. So now I have to pick up some wheel spacers and swap out the UCAs but the UCAs are my choice and not really need. It all comes down to prior proper planning prevents piss pour performance.

I'm running Micheline LTX MS2's 265/75/16 on TRD FJ wheels with stock suspension and stock mud flaps, no trimming, and have no rub issues at all.
I do plan on installing 5100's up front to level it out for looks.

    Mine was stupid ridiculousness!!!

Front went in great but the rear was stupid hard, but with some help from a friend a knife, a BFG, I won.

Don't regret it, it was worth it I love my truck.

Armored upfront and in the rear, I've taken my truck far past what I expected. I have pulled out some people that never thought they would need my help.

Just installed from toyotec OME 886's, OME 9000's up front. AAL I. The rear. Diff drop.
Truck feels better than stock and has no issues whatsoever.

Is a DC 4x4 with shrockwerks front bumper. On 265 tires.

I also did an alignment immediately after the lift.
