how cold is too cold to wash your truck?

Hey guys. so, I washed my truck tonight when it was about 40 degrees and windy. It wasnt much fun. had a hard time specially since my hands were num after about 30 mins. So I started wandering how cold it has to be for you not to wash your truck. for me, anything less than 40 and im out. What about you guys?

 

If the water starts to freeze that's sign enough for me.

 

I wash, wax and polish in 40-45 degree weather every other weekend. It's supposed to be in the mid 30s this weekend..that will be the true test lol

 

Here in az anything under 50* is too cold.

 

Anything lower then 32 degrees

 

Unless the water is heated

 

The only time I gave up was when the water from the hose froze on my windshield after the initial rinse. I figured it wouldn't do my paint any good to push a bunch of ice shards across the clear coat

 

ya, 30's sucks for washing cars. washed my jeep once when it was 35 and will never do that again

 

60-100 degrees: ill do it
40-59 degrees: bring it to someone
less than 40: ill let it be dirty

 

I took mine to the detailer the other morning...figured they's start on it later in the morning since the hi was going to be 55.

It was 33 when I dropped it off and they got right to it. Not me brudda!
Gotta at least be 50+ degrees for me to hand wash it.

 

I have washed mine in pretty cold weather. Although I took my bucket in to the bath tub to put some hot water in and then when outside I add some from the hose and made it just warm. Helps keep my hands warm for a while anyway.

 

it's below 50* for 9 months a year here so as long as it's not freezing it's good

 

Haha I was the only one that said less that 70 I'm a desert rat, I don't like cold!

 

In tx anything under 60 people normally take it somewhere.

 

When the water comes out of the hose in chunks it's too cold.

50 degrees and with sun and I will wash and clean it ... below that ... I wait a few days until the weather changes ...

But I will wear wear shorts and flip-flops to zero ... just keep me dry & my chest kinda warm ...

Doesnt matter how cold it is for me. just wash it and put it in my dads heated shop overnight to dry it out so it doesnt freeze solid.

 

i had a hot water line run to the hose bib by my garage. so i wash my truck with hot water in anything above say 30 degrees. usually it's just a quick wash to get the salt and road grime off, not going to polish or wax when it's that cold.
