Alright so here's what I've gathered:

    1. OP asks for his tires to be rotated, likely in uninterpretable broken English
    2. Shop takes wheels off, breaks bead on each tire, destroying tpms
    3. Shop panics, throws tires on and uses "newfangled" impact gun at highest setting, shearing wheel stud
    4. Shop attempts to fix stud, but instead completely disassembles braking system

    Am I missing anything?

And you checked the tire pressure in all tires, including the spare?

    Ditto.

New Federal law, when a vehicle is brought into a shop, the "tech" MUST adjust the inflation to the vehicle manufacturer's specified inflation levels unless the customer specifically requests that they not do it.

If the truck was at 35 when you went in, the "tech" would have dropped them to 28 rear 32 front or some other stupidity regardless of whether the tires are a load range C, D, or E.... and he likely didn't mess with the spare, meaning that the TPMS is going to throw a fit and light up on you.

Why the techs will lower pressure is beyond me. The purpose of the law was because some liberal think tank published that underinflation of tires wastes 10 trillion gallons of gas every hour or some such.
So for every underinflated car that the law helps to save fuel, there is a properly inflated car that they are hurting.

My '91 Escort used to get 60k out of Sears 45k tires running them at 35psi.
I've never once had a tire wear the center before the edges and I always run somewhere between the sidewall max and 5-10psi below (depends on the tire, 60-psi AT/KO truck tires I'll run at 50 for the highway)

just got back from Discount Tires, they found and fixed a bad sensor, it was reading 80 psi instead of 35. Do they make two different sensors: one for aluminum rims and one for metal rims? Just curious. Discount Tires Rocks!! no broken studs.

    Yes.

20 vs 40 degree, one for steel and one for alloy wheels.

The steel wheel sensor can be flipped 180 and used in alloy wheels, but in the future any tire shop needs to be aware of that or they will break the sensor when breaking the bead.

That explains why National Tire and Battery broke a sensor when they switched my metal rims to aluminum. Discount Tire is the only place that told me there was a difference. They said I should go back to NTB and get my money back but NTB says there's only one kind of sensor for that. Untrained and unqualified.

Got a citation for the "new federal law"?? Haven't heard that one before- but it troubles me cause the Toyota didn't make a recommendation for pressures on the 295 tires I use...so they best not adjust anything.

Not directly, but it's been reported by multiple techs that know their stuff on one of the gun forums I hang on.

I'll see what I can find. By "new" I'm talking late 2008 or so... about the time the talking heads on the news were making a big deal about inflation levels when Obama was offering proper inflation as a solution to our fuel price issues.
