Multiple times filling right when the light comes on shows it to have 4 gallons, as I always can put 17 in (+/- 0.5)

The tank is 80 liters (21.136 gallons).

The Gauge can be used to figure the gallons in the tank +/- 0.5 gallon.

    3/4 line = 16 gallons (down 5 gallons)
    1/2 line = 12 gallons (down 9)
    1/4 line = 8 gallons (down 13)
    E LIGHT = 4 gallons (down 17)
    E line = 3 gallons (down 18)

Oh, and today the cheapest gas around here is $4.23/ gal. at Costco Vista, CA. Other stations range from $4.25 to $4.63 in north San Diego County for regular 87 octane.

I don't see what A-TRAC has to do with this at all.

I pumped 12.6 once in to a boat tank that I regularly run dry. Before the 12.6 I had never put more than 12 in it. I have probably filled the tanks 100 times. I said something to the station owner and he said the pumps were just checked. The density of gas is affected by temperature so it is possible if it is real cold to pump more.

    Other way around.

"Hot fuel" has been a problem at some stations... and when caught, they get spanked. In the city that I work for, there is an LA County Weights and Measures truck that pretty much "lives" in the city yard, rather than operating out of the county yard. He's out every day doing spot checks on stations.

There are heaters in the pumps that are intended to "normalize" the temperature of the fuel passing through the meter mechanism.
Some stations were running the temp higher than acceptable limits because it would draw less fuel from the ground tanks than indicated.
On a warm day, the customer had no clue (other than perceived poor economy), but on extremely cold days, not only would the pump feel warm, but the cold tank and fuel in the tank would chill and contract the new fuel and the customer could put more fuel into a tank than it is supposed to hold.

Haha! Uh! Wasn't it your government saying that our(opps! Your) oil is dirty? So instead of getting oil from us, they(the government) would rather get it from Sadi Arabia? So I guess it's better to have blood in your oil then dirt hey? You know, the pipeline(Keystone(Alberta Canada to Texas)) is still going ahead it seems regardless of what your president says. So as far as I am concerned, it comes out of our(Canada's) ground. Shouldn't it be cheaper for us then for you? But you know, you tell me, it's your oil?

*edit* I want to apologize to anyone that this may offend. This is not my intention by any means.
