Starting to think I'm better off picking up a 2011 TRD Sport DC, SB 4x4. The dealerships are working much better deals on the 2011's. Even though I like the new 12's I could live with an 11. I see it this way...my only gripe about my 09 is that its not 4x4 , so if I get an 11 it will be cheaper and like my same truck but in 4x4

Here's what you do. Take your current mud flaps and PreRunner badging off of your current trucks. Trade in for identical 2011 4x4. Take off new trucks 4x4 badging and mudflaps. Place old truck badging and mud flaps on. Nobody will never know you got rid of your old truck.

One of the hardest things in life is finding out what you really want. Getting that, is usually pretty easy.

    It works for trucks too.:D

Keep what you got and wait til the 3rd gens come out then snag one of them up. This way your current truck will be paid off or close to it and you will have that much more equity in it when you trade it in.

I'd say get the '12 if they came with the new V6. The fj did why couldn't they do it with the tacomas.

I'd hate to buy a new Tacoma with the 1st run of new engines in them. The 1st year of new engines, etc it usually the guinea pig period

I found a 2011 SSM DC LB 4x4 Sport at the local dealer. They want $32k, they're doing $4K off, plus I qualify for the Toyota $1000 off College Graduate Incentive program. I figure I can get about $20-$22K for my 2009 TRD Sport Prerunner that is in PRISTINE condition and has 60K miles on it. I owe $15K on it still so I would have about $5K to put down. So in the end I could get the 11 DC LB 4x4 Sport for about $23k. Problem is....I'm still not sure I want a LB. I've never needed the extra bed room and I prefer the looks of the SB.

So true. I have gone over 6 cars since 2004. Good thing I am still stuck to the same woman. It is either women or cars :)

Thought about that, but not sure that will do the trick if I've got 4 people in the tacoma and a fully loaded up M416 trailer too. I'm getting into expedition camping and 4x4 is the best option for that

Get one man! Usually you can get a new one just as cheap as a used one esp if you have equity. And the rates are lower on new one's as well. I had an '08 Prerunner and I got stuck twice in my driveway with it, only 4x4 here on out. Plus the 2012's have an awesome new interior and they also come with Trailer Sway Control which helps when hauling trailers by applying braking to individual tires when needed

DO IT and join the club! Many of us here, myself included, made the mistake of buying not enough truck the first time. You won't regret it...well...your wallet might once you start modding.

I've almost traded in for a 4x4 a few times, but never do it. The thought of NO TRUCK PAYMENT sounds waaaaay to good to me.
