check out Babytruck's ride, there's a lady with a nice set-up and no TRD package, That is why it was 5-6000 less new. If she would have got that truck with an automatic it would have cost about 700+ more, but well worth it. The newer v-6 gets better gas mileage with automatic than a 6-speed manual. I suggest at least an Access Cab V-6 Automatic 4x4, 2009 or newer model.Whatever you decide, weather a 4 or 6 cyld, Toyota Tacoma is the very best you can buy. If you buy brand new, dont fall for dealership extended waranty@1000+.Toyota trucks are covered with a basic 3yr./36000 mi. manufacters waranty. You can pick up extended waranty anytime BEFORE manufacture waranty expires, and buy it from any U.S. dealer at different price range(shop dealers for best prices)

That truck is way over priced. Shop true car price for prices. Car-max is way over priced on everything they sell. They have great marketing skills and nothing else. Please dont get taken by these con artists and their ilk. You probably got decent credit so go to a Toyota dealer and get A NEW v-6 access or double-cab AUTOMATIC. Internet shop dealers for best deal. Dont get in a hurry and research till your fingers fall off, play the dealerships against each other. There is alot of info on this site about how to do all this, just use the search key. Any dealer trying to pass off a 4 cyld. off as a TRD is the epitome of deception, thats how some of used dealers like to roll. If you must buy used , take vehicle to your certified local mechanic to completely check outfor you. usually for under $100.00 they will check engine, transmission, suspension, and make sure truck hasnt been wrecked. Beware of salvaged title vehicles, they are everywhere. to avoid all these hassels and financial nightmares, Buy NEW!! and the TRD package is worth every penney, especially on 2009-2012 trucks. TRD OFFROAD has everything in options, TRD SPORT is cheaper but missing a few options. Go to Toyota website and you can view ALL their options along with prices they want, but price is negotiable amongst dealers. you will be lucky to get 1-2000 out the 94 Ranger.

Based on what that car dealer is trying to pass off on you, I'd certainly never go back there! I've been buying used vehicles for a lot of years, and as far as I'm concerned your best bet will be to shop at new car dealerships whether you buy new or used. They tend to sell much nicer used vehicles in better condition (although you'll pay more) and they'll be there if a problem comes up. Stay far away from a stand-alone used car dealer unless you're really knowledgeable and mechanically inclined.

Since it sounds like you keep your vehicles for a long time, I'd vote for buying new.
