I picked up a K&N filter for my tacoma off local classifieds, but no oil. Do I need to buy K&N oil and cleaner kit or has anyone found alternative cleaners and oil?

    Thanks

The K&N kit is pretty inexpensive (< $15.00) and not too hard to find. That'd be my first choice.

If you run out of cleaner before you use up the oil, I've heard that Simple Green works OK too.

If oiled...will have a reddish color in appearance on the filter fibers (if a newer K&N kit was used)
