No. I am hesitant in buying it. I tried looking up reviews on that part on ebay, but could only find reviews on the seller, not the part itself. I want to know if someone else has had any luck.
The only thing I am having issues on my taco is the cruise control. When my taco was under warranty, dealership wouldn't replace the cruise control until the spiral cable was replaced and that wasn't under warranty. They wanted $400 to replace the spiral cable and that wasn't a guarantee that the cruise control would be fixed.

So I'm beyond frustrated. I can't seem to determine which part number I need. I have cruise control & audio controls and NO airbag light illuminated. Only issue I have is NO horn. I ordered one of the Chinese 843060E010 and when I went to swap it out my clockspring has 3 plugs vs the 2 on the 843060E010 or 8430604080. I did find one that look correct for an 05 prius on Ebay (no part number included other than a sticker marked 48020 B24. Mine says 04020 B37. I tried to attached images of mine. Any help would be appreciated. My taco is a 2011 and I've read the recall only was for up to 2010.

Guys, I watched a youtube video of a guy fixing his broken clock spring. It was just a matter of splicing/soldering all of the connections back together. Looked like a 30 minute job and could potentially be saving you up to around $500 according to one of the posts above w/ parts & labor. I'll see if i can find the video but in the meantime just google clockspring repair or search it on youtube.

Ok not sure if the link will work, but if not, just search "Clockspring dissasembly and fix" on youtube.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread!! But, does anyone have a link to the recall information?
Going to take my 07 to the dealer tomorrow, looking for some ammunition, hoping to get a spiral cable replacement under the recall. (Cruise control not working)

Check with your local dealer, there is a recall on it.

The spiral cable recall that affects the 05-09 Tacoma is batch specific and can result in diagnoses charge if not careful. You can phone a dealer to see if you have outstanding recalls. We remove the steering cover and read the serial # and match it up to see if replacement is required.

I haven't done a campaign spiral cable on an early 2nd gen tacoma in ages, most are completed. The 09-11 Tacoma was more recent and was a full on recall where we replaced everything.

My local dealer just looked it up by my vin#. The local dealer has cleaned up their act, and has hired so good service attendents. They were glad to check on recalls for me. But I guess it helps if you employ the service guy's son, too. Any dealer should be happy to look up recall info. Because Toyota pays them to do the recall work. At lease that is what I was told.

So, still searching for a cruise control fix. Replaced the cruise switch today, still no cruise control...

I have had an issue on my 2011 with the horn not working. 2 years ago I ordered a Chinese knock-off and was happy to only pay $15 for it. I have now gone through 4 of them. The horn stops working after a while. I am now going to buy a OEM clock spring in hopes of getting rid of this problem, once and for all.

In the same boat as other 2011 owners on here. Cruise is fine, no air bag light but horn doesn't work unless you turn it fully to the left or right.

Called a local dealer and was told my truck is not apart of the recall.

Got a quote from a local shop @ $507.11 for part and labor. Think i'm going to save myself some money and just do it myself. Autozone rents a steering wheel puller which is the only tool I don't have.

Going to order this part number: 843060E010

discounttoyotaparts.net has it for $210.79 plus shipping......

You don't need a puller, it comes off easily

Yes sir, had the puller just in case as a rental from Autozone but it comes off easy as you said.

Ended up going with the OEM part from the dealer. They cut me a little deal but part was still over $200 + tax. Horn works like a charm now and used it on a driver this morning that started coming into my lane @ 80 MPH while texting :fenforcer:

I found a genuine Toyota part for the Chinese market. $158 shipped.

07 Prerunner SRS light stays on, horn works, cruise control works, wheel does not have any audio options. I doubled checked all the connections under both seats. Taking it into the dealer in the morning to pull any codes. Is there any chance of the airbag just going off while the light is on? I been iffy about driving my truck.

Air bag won't go off. That's the problem. In the event of a front end crash, it won't go off.
