Homemade Steps

I made these step bars out of 2" tubing and 3/4" round bar. The end caps are rubber stoppers i found at Lowe's.I may in the future weld on caps.Painted them w/ rustolium Bed Liner paint.
Tell me what you think.

Looks good...the only thing i'd be concerned about is someone's foot getting caught in the "step".

 

I hear ya,Same goes w/ the NFAB steps......I am going to add noo-slip tape to them also.

It's always nice to see your own handywork and to know that you have saved some bucks.

 

I would of made my own sliders but I don't have a tube bender. Bought them from avid. Its all good, many people expect things for cheap nothing is cheap this day in age.

 

Looks great OP. Are they bolt on or weld on? The only thing is maybe have made the actual step out of thicker tubing but other than that looks good. You should make them and sell them on this site at a good deal so we don't have to spend $300 on Nfabs.

 

They are bolt on......Yea i prolly should have went w/ 1" bar not 3/4.

NFAB'S $300? I wish I saw them the cheapest for $400.

Amazon has the Smittybilt's for $330 which are the same as Nfabs. Again though your's look great and you should start a little side project by selling them here on TW.

IMO, grip tape will wear and look crappy before long. As well as you've done so far, why not weld a small step plate to it?

 

Those look really nice, I agree with the above posters though, might want to think about making the step portion out of a little thicker metal. Overall they look good though. Mass produce and sell those!

 

Or even some expanded metal
