I think the pic was just for reference, I've changed my clockspring and it is NOT a Lucas part.

So far I've added an Advance folding bed cover and since removed it. Gave it to my son in Maine, he has an 05 2wd. GT perfect fit seat covers. Weathertech floor mats and window vent visors. Waag center brush/grill guard. Hose clamp tailgate mod. Turned off the seat belt chime. Added Ultra-Gauge. Trailer hitch. Softopper. Replaced sun visors with slide out style. Toyota bed extender. Had Firestone Destinations and now Michelin LTX AT2 in stock size. More mods to come; Fog lights, locking storage in bed, intermittent wipers. Now looking for Radio/HU upgrade. and maybe a lift way down the road.
Took my 2009 to the dealer today for routine maintenance. I forgot to ask about possible recall and they didn't say anything. Right now I don't see a problem with my Tacoma but if something acts up I'll be there asking questions that day or the next.

When I go to the Toyota recall site and put in my VIN, I only get the TPMS recall, nothing about the clockspring or even the accelerator recall.

This is incorporated into the PCM of every vehicle produced with a Drive-by-Wire throttle system.

The only way it works is if the throttle is held in a certain position for a certain amount of time and then the brakes are applied. The fuel injectors will not shutt off if the brake is pressed first.

It would be nice to get an update from toyota. I have been checking news articles every few days and there is really no significant mention of THIS recall.

I got an interim safety recall notice in the mail yesterday. Letter says they will send another letter out once they get the parts to replace the spiral cable.

I've never gotten a mail or telephone notice from Toyota either. BUT, my local Toyota dealer sucks ass.

I check the Toyota owner website linked earlier about once a month or once every other, just to keep an eye on things. Once I saw word of it here, and on CNN at the docs' office, I checked the website and VIOLA! I'm included.

So, you might not get a separate individual notice. Check your VIN on the website to make sure.

Wonder if I had the service done at a toyota dealer for this very thing a year and a half ago that they would reimburse me??

Call them with a copy of your receipt and ask nicely. Better yet, go visit them and go straight to a manager.

Be NICE and I'll bet you get it. At the very least, go home and call corporate and I'll bet you they cave.

I have left multiple messages at my local toyota dealership and they are not answering me. I keep getting transferred from person to person to voice mail.

I am going to go ahead and visit them in person to figure out what is what.

Alright the plot thickens. I started my day by stopping by the dealership who gave me a number. 1800-go-toyota. After calling that number it turns out they have another department handling these things.

    I was given this number:
    1800-331-4331 *4

I will give it a shot on monday when they are open. I was told by a phone rep that I need to call the number, provide them with a mail/fax version of receipts and actual refund should arrive directly from toyota in a form of a check in 8-12 weeks. ZOMGWTFBBQ ;-(

Thanks for the info. I could care less if it takes 12 weeks. This will be free money that I spent 8 months ago.
