My 06 was so rotted I could hang a ball pin hammer through the frame after 3 years. And I washed it constantly. Finally fought it out with Tacoma I client creating a website with pictures of my truck. They finally bought me out and I bought an ''11 totally different pain and redesigned frame with larger drains. Beat them up. They will cave eventually if you are persistent. Their buyout price was nearly 17k and it had 125k miles on it. I was quite pleased.

Just curious...Did you fight it out with Toyota distributor, US, worldwide or one of the local dealers?

Why does the dealership want my truck 4 hrs for this seat belt recall?
I passed on it last week, that's a half days work, seems excessive.
What are they doing, pulling the motor?

Why would you want to rush a recall anything that has to do with my families or my safety in a crash take all the time you need.

It actually only takes them about 30 min. I had it done last week.

Does anybody have any experience with Toyota dealerships in Germany? I'd like to take mine in, but not if I have to struggle with the language barrier only for them to tell me that they don't handle recalls.

I've never spent any time in Wiesbaden, but I gotta believe that there will be several people in the dealership who speak English. Probably even folks you can talk to on the phone to ask them and save yourself a trip if, in fact, they don't handle the recall.

English as a foreign language was a requirement when I was over there, so, I'd agree with Yakoma that it seems likely there should be someone there who could talk to you.

    +1

The dealer probably just wants you to block out 4 hours of your day in case they can't get right to it, or in case something breaks.

Always sandbag. If it's going to take 30 minutes, tell the customer it's going to be about an hour. They'll be happy as a clam when you call them back in 25... and if you took 40 because you had trouble with a fastener, they aren't going to be up in your manager's face.

Thanks, I kinda thought it was a easy fix.
I'll get it done next time it needs a service, no rush, I rarely use it.;)

sometimes I think Toyota is learning too much from GM.. They shoulda stayed Japanese a long time ago. Woulda saved a lotta recalls. I hope they never learn to do the front end "mystery" knock. Thousands of Silverado owners are ranting about it.

Just got a recall notice for a software update to fix an issue with ABS, TRAC, VSC.

It's for certain 2012 and 2013 Tacomas and some RAV4s.
