    Guys,

Does it play music from a usb drive? First I got an error reading it. Then I formatted fat32. Now its making me go through the BT setup. I read the manual.

    Thanks in advance.

Did you have to press any other button after plugging in the USB?

It does play music - plug in a USB stick, and away you go.

Death Cab for Cutie is an awesome group

Anyways, Make sure the drive is FAT32 (which you already did) and try hitting the AUX button again.

If I recall correctly, when you first hit the AUX button it defaults to the BT AUDIO stuff, then hit it again and it will switch to the USB port.

    Just an FYI-

I finally got around to testing this and it works. I usually have a Garmin eTrex GPS mounted on my dash and powered by a cigarette lighter adapter. I brought out the USB cable that I use to plug the GPS into my computer to see if I can use the USB port in the 2012 to power it. The GPS gets power and did not disrupt any Bluetooth stream of music from my iPhone.

This frees up a cigarette lighter plug to power something else. Planning on Wet Okele seat covers with driver and passenger side heaters, which would require two plugins until I hard wire them (if I even do).

I got it to work. Thanks myname150. I had to use a different flash drive (previous usb drive worked on my Pioneer). Pressing the AUX twice afterwards.

Quick question for you all. I notice it came with XM radio. I remember my wife's lexus had that for a few months. By default do you have to cancel it or it just automatically ends after 3 months? I did read Toyota's site, but can somebody confirm.

    You're welcome!

It will probably end after the trial. I doubt they have a means to bill you after the trial is over unless you reactivate or something. At least, I hope they dont

XM does end after the trial. Now, when I try tuning the Grateful Dead channel, it says "unauthorized".

XM just wanted way too much $$/year! Especially when I can just roll Pandora wirelessly :)

At best buy I got a sandisk USB flash drive that only sticks out 1/4 inch. A 4 or 8 GB will hold thousands of songs. It is so stubby the usb flap almost goes closed and you can hardly tell is is pluged in. I put about 60 cds on one and their is room for several hundred cds. You can change between cds using the folder button on the radio. Hit the #6 twice button after you are playing from USB and it will play randomly from different cds.Hit it once and it will play randomly from the cd you selected. That USB port is a great feature for 2012.Before you put anything the flash drive make sure you delete anything Scandisk may have had on it or it may not work on your radio. At least it would not on mine until I had it clean of anything. Its like having hundreds of cds on something as small as a honey bee.

I got a 16 gig and filled it with over 250 hours of techno and put it on random. And another 16 gig with all other music. about 3000 songs. Works great. I also have a 32 gig that works in it just fine. Not sure about 64's?

With this fumbling with cd's or an icrap is stupid. $30 16 gig USB VS $250 icrap = no brainer

It will cancel automatically. They will send you ads as the date approaches, however.

If you wait long enough, they will send you a notice for like 50% off if you renew. It's about 6 dollars a month, so that's not bad.

After the 6 months, the subscription goes to regular rates, but if you cancel before it expires, they send you a new 50% off deal.

Thanks for posting this. I was about to order a Kingston Micro flash drive until I read your post. The sandisk is a couple of dollars more, but it looks smaller and is black, the Kingston is blue. I got the 16GB for $17.

I got a 8GB sandisk on sale for $9.95 normally $29.95. It is so small the USB flap covers it and you can not even see it.If you look down there it just looks like you did not push the flap all the way closed.

This is great info. a couple questions for you. Do the artist's come up in alphabetical order on the screen? If so, how did you organize the cd's in itunes so they will come up in alphabetical order?

    Thanks in advance.
