Considering trading my 2008 V6 TRD access cab prerunner in for a 2012 Access cab 4x4 TRD off road. I see the prices have went up a bit since 2008. I was able to negotiate 3k off the stick off my last truck without too much hassle but that was when the economy was really bad. What are you guys paying these days? MSRP on the basic truck I want is 31K (31K for a compact pickup!) Anyone have opinions of the 2012s vs the earlier first gens? Thanks!

I traded in my 07 4wd DCSB off road with 90k miles for a 12 4wd DCLB sport upgrade package. They gave me $17.5k for the old truck (it needed tires, windshield, 90k service, and suspension upgrade) Out the door minus MD state tax I paid 32,500. I love the new truck and am glad I "traded in for the same truck". Longbed makes a difference in ride I think. Interior is better than the 07, did not like the 18" clad "brutha" rims at first, but they have grown on me. The stock Bridgestone treads are much better than the original rugged fails that the last truck came with. Entune, when it works is not bad.

The big reason I'm thinking about all of this is I didn't get a 4x4 the first time around. I've always been a bit bummer I didn't get 4x4 and then I just about got stuck in some sand no joke five feet off the road a few weeks ago haha. Good thing I had my 220 lb friend with me jumping on the rear bumper to get us out. Plus I really like the new radio with the USB option. I think if I get a new rig with 4x4 I'll happily be able to I will be buried my new Tacoma!
