Spray on Bed Liner for 2nd gen

I know the new beds are poly-somthin or other, and dont need a bed liner, but my dog slides all over the back as I take corners because the plastic is super slick. I'm using a rug right now, but I would rather put in a spay on liner. I talked to line-x and they said they can't coat our beds. Any ideas or better info would be appreciated.

What a good dog-parent!! How about putting some strips of that sticky tape that has kind of a sandpapery feel on the non-sticky side?? that might give your pup the gription he needs

you can either get a mat from the dealer or off ebay. its a thick rubber mat that will lay right on top of the built in liner and keep things...ie dogs, tools, etc. from sliding. i have one in mine and it works great.

Of course, the best thing would be to have the doggie inside with you!!! I have 4 dogs and whenever I travel with a pup or two, they love being with me (and I love having them there!!). I bought a seat cover for just such a thing and it keeps the seats hair free
good luck!

cheers!

Thanks for the ideas, I think I'll look into the tape and the mat.

I think you can get a rubber bed mat for it but as far as a Line-X or Rhino lining I dunno. I do IMHO believe that unless you have a camper shell on the bed, dogs belong in the cab of the truck. I've seen one to many pups doing cartwheels down the freeway @ 75 mph and tying them off isn't a good idea either (seen one hanging off the side of a rig getting dragged)

As for the original quesiton, i was wondering if it was possible to get an aftermarket liner put in as well. I figured it would be hard since we have the storage spaces in the back, as well as the TRD models having the outlet cover.

BTW nceguystaco, haven't seen you around before, welcome to TW! Also, i love your truck, those black wheels look great with your color truck, that looks sharp as hell

Dog has no problem stay in the back of my truck, its all about how you tie them in. I've got a simple but effective way of making sure he cant get over the edge.
I cant find the toyota OEM bed mat on the net any links?

Bed Mat

I got a bed mat fitted for the Tacoma. Fit perfect and works great. Nice thick soft rubber. That and the telescoping Dog Ramp were the first two things I bought after I brought the truck home. Just can't remember where I got it. Think I just did a google search.

Please be sure your dogs are safe in the back of your trucks and that they are tied down properly so they can't jump out and hang themselves. We had one guy here drag his dog several feet did'nt even realize he was doing it until someone flagged him down.

Keep the dogs safe

Yes, I agree. I put an eye bolt in the middle of my toolbox on which I attach a leash that is short enough to keep her from getting too close to the sides.
I also stay on the side streets and try to keep off of the highway. I usually only take her out to the lake and the disc golf course and still keep her in sight in the rear view just to be sure.

Yeah, I think I'm gonna call my local line-x dealer back and ask for the third time, this time telling them I have heard it is ok. Thanks for the info.
