07 miss fire

Hi u can call me stupid or whatever lol I just don't get it it's been to two toyota dealers and they don't know why it goes in limp mode it always show cly 6 miss fire I had replaced the computer and coils and injectors has anyone had this problem

 

I just scanned it again it shows a po300 random/multiple cylinder misfire
And a po306 cyl 6 misfire

 

Can I assume if you changed the ECM, the coilpack, and injector that the sparkplug(s) have not been overlooked? If so, check for a vacuum leak in the #6 intake runner area. And do a compression test, or better yet, a leakdown test. Valve clearance would be another thing to check if nothing else turns up.

 

That's weird how two dealers couldn't figured it out, but how many miles on the engine?
If your having Random/multiple misfires The engine may need a valve adjustment.

 

Lol ya I replaced the plugs and I forgot to mention toyota said the engine was bad in that cyl but I have replaced the engine and they checked I guess the compression and leak down and it check out good it's a stupper lol thank you all for the hints and advice

 

Ya it is crazy it has been in and out of the dealer I mean dealers for a yr lol it says random now but 90% of the time it is number 6

 

It don't do it all the time it's intermitting

Ok an update there is no vac leak im going to check the valve clearance hopefully this week

 

You mean your shop/dealer is.. Right? Unless if you are mechanically inclined enough to know what you are doing.

 

I checked the vac leak the dealer is going to do the valves and they are the ones that did the coils injectors and new cats and computer that was all done by a dealer

 

Just curious, but did you use OEM toyota spark plugs? I used champions and I got a missfire.

 

This sounds like it could be a bad head gasket.I Recently had 05 4runner with 100k also cyl#6 missfire.Replaced plugs fuel injector finaly the customer told me that the miss only happend after the vehichle sat for a while.After that I pressure tested the cooling system found a very slow pressure drop.Next i used a borescope to find a very small amount of coolant leaking from the head gasket into the #6 cly.This would be a good test to perform before having your valves checked.The leak will get worse
over time.One odd thing is the 4runner never smoked and the coolant resivor was not very low.Hope this helps.

 

Oh no kidding ya I got the plugs from the dealer so they are oem

 

Ya that dose help I will have that checked but the weird thing is it will go into the limp mode and run like shit but as soon as I shut it off and start it again it clears out and it did it with the engine b4 and toyota put all that stuff on then said it was the motor and so I bought another used one and did all the test on it b4 I but it in and I didn't even go 5 miles b4 it did it for the 1st time it hasnt got any worse it's been doing it for almost two yrs

 

Dose anyone think it possibly be the engine wiring harness?
