call and ask them. if they mount to the cab return them. if not install them.

cab mounted bars will bend into your doors and rocker panels should you do something stupid like this

OZ I see u have those chrome steps. Where did those mount? Did all that chrome ever blind you with solar reflection causing you to eat it as you walk off? Now that's a damage multiplier!

Yeah that's the kind of input that I'm looking for. Sounds good.

They are the stainless Nfabs , they mounted to the factory running board locations on the underside of the cab , they aren't on my truck currently

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
The N-fab "Rock Rails" are Not sliders and they will damage your truck if you they and wheel with them. They are made from .095 wall tubing to boot they will not protect your truck from rocks and other things on the trail. If your just cruising fire roads and not planning on touching the rails on the ground at any time then you should be good. If your planning on ever touching them things on the ground or lifting your truck with a Hi-Lift i would return them.

Which is fine since they're you know, steps.

You're getting a hard time TACWUT because any type of slider/rock rail are supposed to be able to support the weight of the vehicle since if you're getting them for function they will need to do this. It's not advisable to do that with something that's bolted to the running board location. If you just want them for looks or to protect just from grazing something they're fine. But they won't be good for any serious wheeling.

    EDIT: JLee beat me lol

Also, they wouldn't void your warranty for welding on sliders. You already have suspension work done you'd probably be more likely to break something in the suspension than bend your frame with sliders I'd imagine haha.

I could also keep em n have them re worked to actual sliders once Im done with my warranty or sale them then.

it's not worth it just sell them and buy real sliders .096 wall tubing should not be used on a truck that weighs as much as yours.

I doubt it. Cost would be the same as new sliders now that the market is flooded with fabricators. There are many bolt on options out there - just stay away from AP IMO. I have seen their bolt on version first hand and under a high lift they flex more then any slider I have ever seen. DE makes good bolt ons.

Your warranty against corrosion is bullshit anyway and has more holes in it then a 1st gen frame.

If you keep up on maintenance it will NEVER be an issue.

But a shock wont cause a frame to tweak. Something directly attached with pressure or a strike to something that essentially becomes an extension of your frame could b challenging. Thanks for all your input tough guys.

I hope you kidding me.... we just walked your *&^%$ ass through what you need and spoon fed you the answers. Don't get all cocky because you wanted instant gratification and never did any research first. Shit all you had to do was pick up the phone and call N-fab....what would that take 5 minutes? Or PM people who have them. Instead you start a thread showing your lack of knowledge and talking smack to the people trying to help :jerkoff:

 If you were a professional "wheeler" you wouldn't of bought side steps without knowing what they were.

You would also understand the issues with welding on a heat treated frame if you knew how sensitive warranties were.

If you're that concerned with breaking your truck you probably shouldn't be wheeling it in the first place.

And people are trying to help you out in the long run. Not sure how that makes us "tough guys." God forbid people try to help you. This is a Tacoma forum, we sort of know these trucks.

Never said I was a professional wheeler. I said I off road for work. We hace to pull teeth and get special contratcts to have work covered for as much as we off road. Also my original question was about install. OZ n a couple others started bashing but hey It's all good. Oh n one more thing, if you cant take tough guy as a compliment then I guess I could call you a fairy but thanks is what I was shooting for. You guys make shit so much harder than it has to be.:boom::boom::boom:

Once again, dont twist my shit. I said Im concerned about warranty not breaking my truck. Whats wrong with being proactive about thinking ahead? Did you read my original post? Only two people correctly responded with actual help in regards to the question being asked. Don't try and play victim with me, fairy.
