Brake Drums / Rear shoes

Well it is time for me to do my Rear brakes. The Drums are out of round and the brake shoes getting thin.

Here is my Question: Go with Toyota brake shoes or something aftermarket? If aftermarket what kind?

Did you turn your drums or just get new ones?

 

I'm at 65,000 and still on original pads/rotors up front and shoes/drums out back. If Toyota isn't terrible on price, I'll go OEM for both shoes and drums when the time comes. If Toyota tries to gouge me on the price, I'll go through a place like Autozone or Advanced Auto.

 

was told by my buddy who is a toyota tech that if i went with anything besides OEM on my rear shoes he'd kick me in the nuts....

unless you can find some aftermarket premium pads that are the shit..it would be hard to beat the OEM quality...i'm at 110,000 on my original pads and were just checked last week and still have life left in them...

aftermarket pads have a tendency to melt and really fuck shit up...so you can roll the dice and save some money but risk a large damage bill later, or find a good price at a dealership and go with OEM....

 

83k on mine. Lots of life left. I'm sticking with OEM, when I need them.
