cold air intake for 2011/ 4.0v6 tacoma

im looking to buy a cold air intake for my 2011 tacoma.its a tx-pro trd with a v6/4.0 auto 4door. im thinking an afe stage 2 cx kit with a pro dry filter or a afe stage 2 si kit with pro dry s filter. any ideas? the cx kit i think is a classic open filter and the si kit is enclosed filter box.

 

The Si would be better than the CX because it actually pulls cool air, not hot air from the engine bay.

Your stock intake is a cold air intake, one of the best, most cost effective things you can do would be to drop a high flow filter into your stock intake. AFE ProDry S is a popular choice.

 

ive been looking at them for a little more power..i had one on my 09 2.7/4cyl tacoma and it seemed to help quite a bit going up steeper hills after i put it on.it was a k&n though.

 

Don't mistake noise for power and the 4 cylinder is a little different from the V6. The V6's intake already draws cold air from the fender. Swapping it to the CX series would mean you're not drawing hot air from the engine bay. The Stage 2Si still draws from the fender so you might gain a little off of that but for the cost, you can't beat a good drop on on the 2nd Gen V6.
