On my new 2012, first 3 tanks I've been getting 18.5, all city driving and going up steep hills.

I live close to charlotte and drive in the traffic almost everyday, I'm a bit of a lead foot, never have a got any lower than 18 in the city. About 12 to 14 with trailer. Check tire pressures and the engine compartment something seems odd. I average about 20.5mpg per tank.

I'm avg 16-17 kinda leadfoot acceleration . I hate driving like grandpa. Would of bought something else if I was concerned with MPG.

Even with the 275/70r17's that weigh in at 53 lbs, I'm averaging 18-19 mpg's. That's putting the low fuel light on right at the 300 mi. mark. Stock tires was getting 20-21, never been an easy driver, hard on it all the time.

2011 Tacoma Double Cab 4X4 here. I'm noticing a huge difference in gas mileage since November 2013 when I first purchased the truck. 550 km from the first tank, 450 km last week. Possibly cold weather? But losing 100 km (60 miles) per tank. OUCH!!!!

13 prerunner sport dcsb. I drive like I just stolen the truck. I pass cars on a 2 lane hwy and semi's I've run up to 105 running late for work which is 34 miles away 20% city and my best tank was on 93 octane at 19.1 mpg. I track on fuely which is in my Sig. My wife drives all city and hasn't hit over 17 yet. Around 7k one her prerunnertrd off road and I have over 18k on mine. Most I put on one tank was odd but 350.0 when I checked it while filling up.
Not sure why some get crap mpg

my trip meter reads 260-270 from full tank(21 gal) to when light comes on with 285's
But. odometer and speedometer is off..truck is actually traveling further and faster than the 2 meters record. So therefore I am getting more miles per tank than trip meter says. When my speedo reads 76mph I am really going 80 as per 2 GPS's I referenced with.

I have a lifted DCLB. For the first 2 year I owned her it was not unusual to get 350 miles to a tank and 310 in town purely stop and go with my highway tires. I am at 84k miles. About a month ago I put 285/70/17 Cooper discoverer ST MAXX's on. Now my best tank of 5 fill ups is 215 miles. It is winter gas this I know. Will resetting the computer help me at all? And is disconnecting the battery the best method to do this? Or is this purely the tires I chose. I have a ScanGauge and am using it to best drive for economy. Thanks in advance.

At 450 miles, the cars computer has not had enough time to get used to your driving habits. When i bought my truck, the fuel consumption didn't level out until after I had put
    a couple thousand miles.

20.4 last tank, I really like this warmer weather. Same gas in cold was about 18.5. My break in period MPGs also sucked. Saw improvement up to about 5000.

I get about 300 miles on a tank average. You need to just break it in and you'll get better mileage in the summer when the weather is warmer. Also do you really believe the official mpg things they poist on cars? I mean come on dude they are estimates not actual mpg. If you want better mog buy a Prius, yet at the same time you should change your driving habits.
