    Hi all.

    Hi Cat.

I agree wholeheartedly that all of the manuals should come with the vehicle - your reasoning makes a lot of sense.

Just to clarify, here in Canada each of the 4 volumes of the repair manual would have been 180 bucks if they were available - for a total of 7 or 8 hundred dollars.

Printed versions of all of the info I got from TIS (including the courses) would have cost in the thousands. I think 75 bucks and some of your spare time is well worth it. The info is much easier to dload when it is in PDF format. The RM was the time consuming one for sure, having to print to the acrobat distiller to get the files into PDF format, naming them, and arranging them into folders (sometimes nested 6 deep).

    Cheers
    Ray.

I'm pretty bummed about this myself. I was poking around online for a manual before I came here and found this thread. I guess I'm eventually going to have to bite the bullet and do what others have done and pay for the trial period. It has crossed my mind to install a computer dedicated to my truck in my garage...and I may still do that. Like it or not the world is going digital with everything.

I did some research on this for my 2012 Tacoma and found that Chilton does have an online repair manual for Tacoma's of that year. The year subscription is $24.95 and it appears to be essentially the same information as would come in a paper manual. I am thinking of biting the bullet and giving it a shot. I don't know if the information is printer friendly yet. Try the link below:

    http://repair.chiltondiy.com/Pub/DIY/Product.aspx?ca=Repair&b=118807

If anyone has done this already please let me know what you think. It isn't that expensive and I can afford to give it a shot for that price but I would like to know if the information is printable/downloadable or only avaialable online.

So I went ahead and purchased the year membership to the online Chilton I found for my 12' Tacoma. The information is good and I'm happy with it at $24.95 for the year. I do wish I could get it in paper format though. You can individually select the pages and download them, like you can from the Toyota maintenance site previously mentioned. Although the information isn't as complete as I imagine the Toyota site to be, it is good information especially for the price. I would recommend it, but that is without having actually viewed the official Toyota site. Hope this helps...

    Hi,

On my last vehicle (2002 GMC Sonoma) I purchased a yearly sub to Alldata.com (about ~$25 to $30?). It seemed OK as far as data, Diagrams, etc.

Is All data an OK site for the 2012 Tacoma - or - since Toyota has not published and possibly copy write issues, they have only a small subset??

I did not see alldata mentioned here - so I thought I'd inquire why ???

    Thanks All!!
