installed supercharger now engine light is on

someone help!! ran good for a while now engine light is on and runs choppy, any suggestions would be appreciated

 

If you installed it yourself did you take it to the dealer to get the ecu re-flashed ?

 

Or to be properly tuned and adjusted?

Take it to a local parts retailer and have them scan the truck and print out the codes for you.

 

my buddy works at toyota dealership and we read the codes. its a lean code or misfire

 

just not sure what to do now....

 

cant adjust or tune the stock ECU. when installed u get the dealer to upload a new calibration file. only way to tune these trucks is if u go aftermarket and it shouldnt be necessary with the stock S/C kit with calibration file

 

Check your PCV valve. I missed that when I installed my S/C and it lead to misfires and a lean code when it was running. It started running so bad I ended up having it towed the five miles to the dealer where they discovered it during the reflash. If you look in the directions I don't believe it mentions that you need to re-attach it and it is easy to forget when you are reconnecting the 1/2 dozen or so hoses to the S/C and air cleaner assembly.
