Deezee rubber bed mat. $52 shipped off Amazon.com. It keeps stuff from sliding around. For anything I don't want to tip over, I have a 2x6 cut to width laying in the little notches in the bed sides.

Here's what I did with some extra wood I had laying around the garage.

I was originally gonna divide the back section into thirds, but thought they'd be too small to be useful.

Yeah the OEM is a rip, but i bit the bullet. I love the thing and have no regrets. It is super easy to adjust, strong and looks clean.

After reading this thread and a few others, I decided to go with the OEM version. I had a LoadingZone cargo gate in my old Ranger (Yeah, I've finally seen the light Tacoheads :)), and almost anything would crash through it on a hard stop, even when it was secured as tightly as possible.

The Toyota cargo divider is sturdy. Anything that tries to crash through it is going to have to rip the side rails out to do so ;). It's rated for 400 lbs., I think.

Installation and adjustment was simple. With my Extang SolidFold cover, I had to mount it backwards, putting the left bracket on the right side and the right bracket on the left. That put the adjustment knobs that are normally on top of the divider on the bottom of the divider. That gave the clearance I need for the flat cover. Still easy to reach and adjust the knobs.

I found it from a Toyota dealer online for $258, including shipping.

I had boughten the one similar to the one that was at Home Depot. I don't have a lot of heavy things so the one from Toyota wouldn't be used for what it's intended. It's not good for hard stops but it's not like I am doing those on purpose. Also the price in Canadian from the dealers up here is a rip off. I'm going to just deal with this cheap one I got for now.

OEM is a really nice unit. It seemed to jam up when I would slide it sometimes, but once you figure out to stick your fingers under the channel and straighten out the offending square nut that got crooked, you will love the thing. It is worth every penny. I think they are cheaper online. Man I kinda forget how all my groceries or gear would go sliding all over the bed. Those were the days!:p

I've had the LoadingZone unit for a few weeks now and I'm quite happy with it.
