Not surprising. Like I said....either too much money (that def ain't it) or need to wake up.....Yeah we're on to something. LOL

I get 19.25 mpg driving around town. I have a 4 cyl Access Cab. Fantastic compared to the Dodge Ram 1500 I traded in.

    a Prius!?
Why not buy my Ram SRT. It gets 9.3mpg premium, and I drive it like granny. Best I ever got was 12mpg on a road trip to Jacksonville. I always tell people Im doing my part to rid the world of as much of that dirty oil as I can, but $600 per month for fuel was getting old. Hopefully I can save at least $200 a month with my new taco.
    Thats worth saving!

If someone tells me to buy a prius I just say it's on the to-do list. Until then since I need the truck to break some snowdrifts I just drive the beast everyday.

There are a few things that work well for mileage but like everything there are tradeoffs to consider whether it's worth it. I don't offroad so step 1 for mileage to me is keep highway tires. Stuff like that. I just moved over the right foot mod my old Honda had so I don't know exactly how much of a benefit it really has.

I gotta say, as retarded as the Toyota's ECU logic seems to me (coming from the Honda world where everything seems to just work right the first time), there's nothing better for your truck. Toyota won't let anyone flash their ECUs and once it learns your truck's behavior actually does fairly well economy-wise.

edit: forgot, at full throttle there is the URD MAF calibrator. Good for a few ponies. Nothing for mpg.

I have 2013 Tacoma PreRunner SR5, Double Cab, Long Bed, V6, 2x4 with 800 miles on it. I drove 327 miles in South East Florida on 18.3 gallons (200 miles in a city 25-45 miles/hr and 127 on a highway at 65-70 miles/hr no wind). Air Conditioner was ON all the time. 327/18.3=17.9 miles to a gallon…. Well, it looks like EPA sticker on Toyota is correct….

Tirse and drop-in K&N so far.
Purchased a 2WD(5 lugger) last week, it has stock set-up, 215/70R15 tires auto trans and ALS. It had 1500mi on it when I purchased it. Took a trip to Columbus, Oh last weekend and keeping speed at 61(6mph over speed limt) I got 26.8 mpg. I drive gently especially on take off, always under 2200rpms. I want to go up two sizes in tires though to a 225/75R15 and am wondering if anyone has made this move and what it did to their gas mileage.

I get a little over 18mpg in mixed driving. I can get over 20 on a highway trip. I do not really worry about it much though. I spent $30k for this truck so the few extra bucks in gas it takes compared to a Corolla are not that significant to me.

Since my last post, I drove 3000 more miles on my 2013 model DC Long Bed V6 (2x4)... It does not even matter if I drive like a grandma or keep up with the traffic, 1 person or 4 adults in it... City 17.6 mpg, Hwy 18.8 mpg. From one side: I am happy now as I stopped worrying about mpg -- I can press accelerator to the floor whenever I need to and still have 18 mpg average. From other side: I wish they put 6-speed transmission in Tacoma as they do for Tundra

I can consistently get 20mpg avg. in my 12' v6 ac 4x4. I run 93 and am running 245/75r16. driving is 90% highway. I don't go over 70 and coast a lot. Worst I ever got was 18 towing.

Average is 18.8 mpg with highest is 19.7 mpg for DCLB Prerunner on E10 (89) at 1600 miles now, 30/70 city/hw driving. No complains here even my former RX450h gets 28-31 mpg easy.
