6000, they had it on Autoblog a few days/week or so ago first as rumors and then I think w/ an official Subaru press release.

I think the Scion version looks better (much nicer front end IMO) but the Subaru is gonna have much nicer interior w/ better options and supposedly a better/more sporty suspension.

EDIT: not official press release but heres the article

just asserting my opinion of RWD vs AWD, obviously I haven't driven a BRZ or FR-S. But it appears like you have a pretty strong assertion of your own already just from reading reviews

having owned 2 STi's myself I can easily say that I prefer Subaru AWD to any RWD car out there .. and I don't think this 30k coupe will change my opinion. it may be a great fun car to drive, but I prefer all 4 wheels holding on to the ice and snow covered mountain roads, or the slick freeways during a rainstorm.

Well I tend to think AWD>RWD too. I can't seem to think that all 4 wheels pulling the car is in any way shape or form a bad thing. However, there's not one single Formula 1 car (pinnacle of all things racing) that's AWD. And make no mistake, I'm not asserting anything on my own. Everyone who's driven it says it's on a completely different level in terms of feel and handling. I'll be at a local dealership first day they're available for a test drive.

PS: Price is $25,495 as previously stated. I don't think you can even option it to $30k with absolutely everything. Not 100% on that last part though.

I'm interested to see where they go with this motor. Not sure why it was created really. The turbo boxer that Subi has would have been great in this car. My only thought is that there will be an evolution for this engine and this is just the beginning.

fully optioned with sales tax and registration might hit 30k :) But ya, I was just guestimating

As for F1 cars, they don't have ABS or Traction Control either, so....

they identified a common demand amongst car enthusiasts for an N/A Front Engine, RWD car like the AE-86.

Obviously they chose an engine that is perhaps the easiest to turbo, pretty much bolt on if you ask me with an EJ, except for the fact that the engine in the BRZ is pushed back a shit ton.

None, factory diff lockers are great.
I'm in the same boat. The truck is awesome but the drive to work is a 60mile round trip, 20mpg isn't cutting it anymore, I don't use it to its potential, and the 43k+ I have on it is only going to get worse.
The BRZ is awesome for what I'm wanting. Fast enough, made for corners and has a lot of the features that I wish my truck had...now I just need to convince my girl to get rid of her VW bug for the 4Runner she's been eyeing.

    None (yet), just bought it

I was gonna say, the pics in the C&D article just look pretty much like a successor to the TC, it looks like they threw an R8 and and Rx-8 together, only with no HP....or maybe Toyota and Subaru's attempt at an Elise....Im not impressed
