this might not be the right place to ask this question but i am hopeing someone can help.My girlfriend parked her 2010 Corolla today and left our dog in the car, i guess he didn't think that was such a great idea. By the time she got back the Mutt had chewed through the drivers side seat belt. The stealership want $400 ++ for a replacement. She called all the local used parts with no luck. Are there any other options. I was wondering why i couldn't replace the webbing, how is it attached to the recoil mechanism, does anyone know?? Yes the dog is still breathing, So far.Any ideas ,suggestions would be apreciated. BTW anyone interested in a border collie, setter cross going cheap.

Don't blame the dog, he was only doing what he knows to do. The seatbelt? Consider it a well paid lesson.

I don't blame him, i was only joking, she wouldn't give him up if he ate the whole damm car :). He has chewed through about $700- $800 worth of shoes and boots to date but he is getting better, he is a rescue dog, not sure how he was treated before we had him.

Good for you guys, I like animals more than most people. Check out a local salvage/junk yard for your part, if worst case ask your dealership.

He has seperation anxiety but he is getting better slowly but surely, can't leave him home unless he is in his kennel, he's torn up the molding on the front and the back door. He's busted the screen out of the windows on my fiberglass cap, hes an escape artist. Lets just say he's a work in progress, sure has set me back a few $$$$$$$ though.

Yeah that was dumb. If I was that dog, I would have shit and pissed all over the seats too(including eating them).

I don't have any advice for you to when it comes to getting the seat belt fixed. I would just consider it your lesson for leaving your pet unattended in a vehicle.
