front strut spacer question.

    If he just wants 1/2" or so to level then spacers shouldn't be an issue.

    The OP is looking at a 1.5" leveling kit, sounds like he won't be doing any wheeling serious enough to nice a difference.

    And yes the geometry of the control arm will change slightly, but adding a spacer on top of the strut doesn't change the geometry any more then if you put a longer spring or a coilover.

    Also adding a spacer on top of the strut does not change the strut travel distance. Your thinking of the coil spring spacer .
    The travel total wheel distance does increase, but unless you go out hitting some jumps with your truck you won't notice a difference. And the total travel distance increases if you go the coilover or longer spring route.

    I agree. People have been running the DayStar and other spacers on the Taco and the Tundra since they were introduced and I've never heard of any problems on the leveling type spacers.

    The issue with breakage would certainly be hard(er) use with the taller lifts.

    The only way to know for certain would be to compress the springs, disconnect the lower end of the strut, and see if you can compress the strut more than 1" beyond that the snubber limits the LCA travel to.
    That compression limit minus 1/2" or so could be considered a "safe" range for a spacer lift.
