    Subbed.

That light always seemed senseless to me too.

He's talking about the light that is ALWAYS on under the HU.

When there's no passenger in the seat, it just says "AIRBAG"
When there is, it says "AIRBAG ON"
When you have a package in the seat but it's not heavy enough to trigger the airbag but does trigger the seatbelt light, it assumes it is a child and says "AIRBAG OFF"

    Not sure if it's possible.
It's likely an LED. I'm planning to swap my HU tomorrow so I'll have the module out... I'll look and see if it's a removable item.

Hey Guys and Gals, just a heads up! On my 2007 Tacoma after installing the seat covers my "airbag" light came on. I tried several different things to get it to go away including, disconnecting the battery for 30 minutes, rechecking all connections under both front seats to no avail. Finally bit the bullet and took it to the dealer. Turns out it came up with code #B1801 (Spiral Spring Faulty). Fortunately it was covered under the Airbag recall and was free of charge. If you guys see this, I'd suggest taking it into the dealer or just deal with the ANNOYING red light on your dash. Take Care.

He's talking about the one that's ALWAYS on on the passenger side of the clock module.

If you put a package in the seat, it'll say "AIRBAG OFF" since it will assume that the light weight is a baby seat.
If a person sits in the seat, it'll say "AIRBAG ON"

The irritating thing is that "AIRBAG" is always illuminated.

I'd just get a volt meter, find out what wire it is and cut.

    Can't.

The clock module contains parts of the airbag processor... there's no "wire" that controls just that light... and unplugging the clock module (or cutting everything except the hazard button wires) and starting the truck will trigger the SRS light on the cluster and disable the entire system.

It MIGHT be possible to open the clock module, but I looked at it when mine was out for the stereo swap and it looked to be moderately involved.
