Removing side gear intershaft assembly from front Diff?

    I'm swapping front diffs through the exchange program with ECGS and I got to this point where I'm supposed to use an SST to remove the gear and swap it to the new differential...... Uh, what can I use that is similar to this device without royal effing up anything?

    I had to pop open the clam shell, then used a pry bar to basically pop it out from the bottom very carefully prying off the cross. It's only held by a retaining ring, like a cv shaft.

    I had a very long very slender punch from harbor freight and I was able to punch it out from the otherside. Was suprisingly easy, just enough force to overcome the clip, didn't leave any marks on the stubshaft.
