    OP was just telling a story about what happened to his truck. No big deal. I will say, and we've discussed this at length, that the paint on these vehicles is pathetic. I think they use my daughters water colors.

    No biggie. Here in CO, rock chips like that are super common .. especially on the edge of the hood. If it's down to the metal, I just dab the spot with a Q-tip dipped in phosphoric prep & etch. Once dried, I touch up with Toyota's touchup paint (they also have clearcoat touchup). It's a perfect match, and no rust.
