I have been looking to upgrade to the TRD bucket seats from my standard SR5 buckets. I found a pair that look to be in decent shape but I cant inspect them in person as they are out of state. I can get these for $400 shipped which seems like a good deal. They do appear to have some stains. What do you think? Can I get the stains out, is it worth it to spend the 400?

Not liking the stains. I would wait for a better set. Either that or just get some wet okles for your current seats.

Performance mods: TRD CAI, AFE throttle body spacer, Doug Thorley headers, TRD exhaust. Cosmetic mods: HID 10k head+3k fog lights, BHLM, T-rex 2 eyelids, billet grill (5 piece), 20% front window tint, 4% back window tint, tinted 3rd brake light, altezza tail lights, LED license plate lights, door skid protectors, slotted drilled rotors, plasti dip rims, painted rotor and drums. Interior mods: TRD seat covers, LED map and dome lights, 2 kicker 10' w/ 500 watt amp, pioneer door speakers, and Pioneer AVIC X930BT.

I wouldn't buy unless I could see and smell em in person. And IMO, they're just not all that.

TRD seats are so much more comfortable than the standard, ask the seller to lower the price due to stains & buy seat covers.

and I would be worried more about smell than stains, if they don't smell, then I would do it. (I know that you can't inspect them yourself)

Just put seat covers on them

Where are the seats? Post where they are located and maybe a local forum member can swing by and check them out, give 'em the smell test for ya.

There's always the option of getting the seat covers, but smell them first of course. They look like someone laid some good farts on them! Good detail shops can get most, if not all, the stains out.

Of course it is. With fabrication. No seat directly bolts to the first gen rail system.

I called them back and the guy I spoke with says they don't smell bad. Hopefully he has a decent sense of smell. The stains look like general work truck usage, greasy food and dirt so Im hoping they will clean up. They have less than 60K on them, for reference my current seats just hit 130K. The owner who could potentially lower the price wont be in until tomorrow morning so I have to speak with him in the AM. Wish me luck, if he wont come down on the price I may still get them anyhow. Worst case scenario Ill throw some Wet Okole's on them when I have a few spare dollars.

Would it just require drilling holes? I would probably need to make shims and such to level them out. 4 runner seats of the same gen wouldnt bolt in?
OP looks like there were some shweaty crotches on those badboys. There is a guy selling some 2nd gen seats on craigslist here in greenville.

I would pursue 3rd gen 4runner seats before looking at other options. There were some cushy 4runners.

My second gen seat brackets look pretty close to other toyota products that I have owned and driven. I bet it wouldn't be too bad to swap.

Very nice looking leather. Did you have this done at an apholstry shop or are they covers that you ordered?
Nevermind, I see that you just responded Katskin. Looks nice and expensive. :) How much does something like that set you back?
