Well it was a rough weekend for my truck. I let the girlfriend borrow my truck and she came home with this..Her fault, she got a little to close to a post that has a button to open a gate to her parents property...... I was a little upset but being mad isnt going to fix it. Not sure if i should get my insurance involved. How much in damage do you think is here?

If it was just the door i'd say no insurance, looks like its the body too. I would think thats more then your average deducatble.

    Check Build Thread!!
Replacing the rear cab panel is very very expensive if you want to fix it properly..

Most body shops will give you an estimate without involving insurance.

Is the paint gouged out? If not, paintless dent repair will be able to pop out the dent. Might save you a little...however it looks like the whole area will need to be resprayed if it is a deep scratch.

Ouch, that sucks... How much is your deductible? It is probably more than that but you're 26 so rates might jump up with a claim... :(

Get a quote without insurance involved is my suggestion, then if you want insurance to cover it go that route.

So far I've added an Advance folding bed cover and since removed it. Gave it to my son in Maine, he has an 05 2wd. GT perfect fit seat covers. Weathertech floor mats and window vent visors. Waag center brush/grill guard. Hose clamp tailgate mod. Turned off the seat belt chime. Added Ultra-Gauge. Trailer hitch. Softopper. Replaced sun visors with slide out style. Toyota bed extender. Had Firestone Destinations and now Michelin LTX AT2 in stock size. More mods to come; Fog lights, locking storage in bed, intermittent wipers. Now looking for Radio/HU upgrade. and maybe a lift way down the road.
Yeah I was going to throw out a least $1000. That gouge and crease in the C post looks bad.

If her parents live somewhere where you are required to press a button to open a gate, im assuming, then they should be able to afford to get their daughter's mistake fixed!!!

You may want to get a couple of estimates. The 2 pics below are my truck. 3 weeks old and my boss backed into it in the parking lot a work. $1019.01 worth of damage. I could have beat him to death that day. I had not even made my first freaking payment yet..
