Waa Waa Waa Waa sound

more and more lately I hear this wa wa wa wa wa sound when i'm driving.
It gets faster as the mph increases. (and no, there isn't anyone else in the cab with me

Maybe bearings or drive shaft?
I dunno?
It could be my tires? they are fairly balanced but I do have steering wheel shake occasionally, but that's usually when it's colder outside (TSB intermediat shaft?)

I'm at around 110k miles, the rear end has about 60k

I'll be checking the front wheels and drive shaft for any slop this weekend, anything else to look at?

 

most likely it's your wheel bearings.

Jack up the truck and see if there is any play in the wheels

 

What brand tires and how many miles on them? Even if there is no noticeable shake, an out of balance tire can make that noise and accelerate wear.

 

It sounds like tire noise. As they wear and start feathering or cupping due to alignment or shocks issues, they start to make a waa waa waa sound. This is more noticible with off-road/mud or all terrain tires.

If it's not the tires, then maybe check wheel bearings next.

 

Sounds exactly like what I had. Dealer replaced both rear wheel bearings under powertrain warranty and problem solved.

 

yeah it may be the tires, I have BFG a/t's with about 35k on them.

waiting for them to wear out so I can go up a size

Guess I'll check the bearing this weekend too.
