leveling the frontend

I'm sure this has been covered' but I could'nt find it.Iwas just wondering if there is anything else involved in leveling the front w 3 inc spacers other than an alignment? And does it put any extra stress that would cause things to wear out early. I don't really offroad, just want it to look better... thanks...

 

Is your rear stock height? If so, just get a set of 5100s and set them at .85" or 1.75" to level it out.

 

X2. A 3" spacer lift up front will make you nose high thats for sure. Spacers arent the top pick on lifts but they are cheap so people use them.

If I were in your shoes, I would wait until I could afford a proper lift. There are TONS of options but many people on the forum run either Bilstein 5100 shocks or a full OME (Old Man Emu) setup. You can get a nice lift setup for under $500 and it will be 100x better than spacers. You gotta pay to play, but if you do it wrong the first time you gotta pay twice.

my rear height is stock, so 5100s will level it out? Money is no object just trying to get the look....

 

The shocks themselves will not level your truck but getting either Eibach coils or OME coils with the 5100's should level your truck if you have them set at the .0" setting.

 

My 5100s are set at .85" and it looks fairly close to level, most say 1.75" makes it exactly level.

 

5100s are adjustable, why wouldn't that level it out?

 

The shocks do not increase the height, the coils do. What I am trying to say is that if he just wants to level his truck out he can get 5100's, set the fronts at .0", and add Eibach coils and that should level out the front end.

 

I didn't add anything but 5100s. Everything else is 100% stock.

 

But you have your shocks set at .85". I am just giving the guy some options.

Yup. You may have a slight rake though.

 

The only thing I added to my truck was the front 5100s and left everything else stock (only 21,XXX miles on the clock at the time). If money is no issue as you stated, it sure wouldn't hurt to add to the rear but I am completely content with mine "as is."

Good luck. I think .85 is better suited for RC, but you might want to go a step up. Try searching for 5100s 1.75, etc., to find some examples.
