Really sad that some don't understand 'discussion forum'...

No shoving, just discussing... and guess what? You don't have to read it!

Stop trying to regulate free discussion... just move on if the topic is of no interest to you... there are countless others who do come here to learn.

    Have a nice day!

I basically just need them when I haul a load or pull my boat. I really like the way my truck sits empty now and don't want to change it, so i'll only air them up when towing! I'll have to play with them when they come in to find the sweet spot I perfer.

These will make a world of difference when you are running a load, you will never 'bottom out' because the bags are essentially your bump stops now. You will probably find around 8-10 pounds unloaded feels about rite, just a little stiffer but the truck will also handle better.

Ok, Got the bags installed and have to say, they work great. I pulled my boat this weekend and with 30psi the truck was level and handled much better than before. When empty I'm running about 10psi and the truck is level, keep in mind I have a two inch leveling kit, before the bags the truck sat a little lower in the back even un-loaded. All and all the bags were a great investment and make the truck handle much better, Thanks for all the input on this one guys and gals!

Hey islander, I'm in just about the exact same boat you are. I've got a prerunner that I tow a boat with, and started noticing a lot more bouncing in the rear recently. I don't know a whole lot about these, but it sounds like a good fix for beefing up the rear suspension.

I was just wondering if you found these anywhere for less than $290? That seems to be the going price, but would love to find them a bit cheaper if possible.

Also, did you get the model 2407? Most places I've seen list those for the 4X4 but don't see prerunner listed. I'm assuming that it probably doesn't matter, but want to be sure before buying.

Lastly, and I know this is probably a dumb question, but you don't have to have an air compressor installed for these as well do you? They can be adjusted with any compressor (gas station etc.) right?

    Thanks

I have them as well and really like them. I don't know about your first question(I bought my truck used so they were already installed) but autoanything has 10 and 20% off coupons every now and then so it might be worth checking out to see if they carry them. The 4x4 bags will fit your pre-runner. The suspension setups are the same. And the final question is yes. I have even used a bicycle pump in a pinch.

    2012 Prerunner 2wd here:

    2407 works perfect.

With 5100's all around, 1.75 level at the fronts, 6 PSI is damn near perfect when under no load.

This talk about max PSI got me thinking.
I had a set on my 1st gen Tacoma and loved. Had them for almost 10 years without a problem.
I would often have to fill them to 100 psi when I would use my slide in camper to level it out.
I wonder what kind of stress that would put on the frame and axle.
I travelled well over 10,000 miles with the slide in with no issues.
The truck rode and handled great, but I wonder if I was just lucky.

Planning on installing a wood furnace in my home next year, So i'm going to cut the wood myself this winter and it's about a 30 min commute each way to the wood. Wouldn't air bags take a lot of stress off my truck? I have the 4 leaf pack.

Yep, that is what the bags are best for, periodic loads that the bags are needed for, the rest of the time mine have little PSI in them.

They will take a lot of load off the rear leafs, and the truck will handle much better with a load than without the bags, but your truck will still be doing the same work as if you didn't have them, obviously. A loaded truck is just that, and should be driven accordingly whether you have bags or not, even though it handles better. That said, I would recommend the ride rites for what you describe, especially if you include a trailer in that picture. I love mine.

First time using the bags. She's almost level. Put 80psi in bags. I was afraid to put anymore in her. I took just as much wood as my buddy's full size gmc.
