yeah the rule is never buy a totally redesigned vehicle on its 1st run, they are having lots of probs with that truck, but i often wonder how much adaptation i would have to do to put a 4.7 litre v-8 in my Tacoma, they use it in the four runner so i assume the motor mounts and tranny mounts are adaptable...

Tundra

American Hunter praised the 3rd. or 4th. gen. Perhaps they worked it out.
in the meantime I`m glad it is not I who has to deal with the recalls.
If I liked hanging around dealerships for warrantee service; I would have bought a Ford.
The 7/8 scale PU Taco suits me fine.

WHY? Every newly designed vehicle has issues!! If you had bought a newly designed 'Detroit' truck, do you think the trucks of those manufactures would have owned up to a voluntary recall? I think not...they instead would have only replaced the defective part and probably only after Lawyers told them there may be a liabillty issue here? The Tacoma has issues as well(lurching, weak tailgate, vibrating driveshaft, etc...) however, in the case of the Tunda it so happened to a bad supplier of Camshafts that Toyota now has isolated. As a result, Toyota has agreed not to replace the defective part but replace the entire engine voluntarily.
