Going to update with some current pics later. I have my boxes on the roof and recently secured them using the rails and some bolts, O-rings and a few wing nuts for ease of removal. Well, easier removal. Better than the straps I had holding them down. Still leaving the locks and chains on them though.

Looking at the Rod Holders they sell. Might grab them and mount them on the bottom of the rack. Would save space, and provide more protection to the poles. Both from UV and any trees or obstacles that I might encounter. My kids love playing on the roof too. So I might be in the market for the last 6 or so slats to make the rest of the platform solid. Possibly Considering another 2 black jerry cans in addition to that. Will it be in time for Overland Expo East? NOPE> Not unless a miracle happens or I hit the lottery.

Rear feet are 60mm and bring both trays perfectly inline, provided the canopy is the same height as the cab.

Just installed mine over the cab last night. I used a dremel with a cutting wheel to cut away the extra rubber on the bottom of the roof strips, and a 3/4-in fostner bit to drill out the holes instead of a punch. Worked surprisingly well.

It is bolted on through the roof holes using the spacers provided? Is that what you're referring too? So installed it last night and drove to work this morning and once I hit 45mph it started resonating loudly!!! Now I didn't install the provided wind deflector and I'm thinking maybe I should? There were no instructions on how to mount the deflector?? I know it goes in the front, but where?...lol It also looks kinda cheesy

Oh, you need that wind deflector. Or install some lights in a triangular pattern. That's my plan to replace mine.

I was referring to your Thule or Yakima rack in your sig

The wind deflector was the ticket...:) No noise now.

Skygear...I was perusing your pics and noticed this one in particular of the Front Runner logo upside down...lol The reason I laughed was that when I took mine out of the box, I had the same issue...haha Luckily the decal comes off and is sticky enough to turn over...;)

BTW...that's your pic not mine, but it could be a mirror image of mine...lol

Did anyone else have an issue with the cab rack resting on the shark fin antenna?

no pics just now. can't even slip a piece of paper between. I tried shimming the rear mount with some washers, but no real change.

Try shimming the actual rack. Not the mount that touches the factory mounting sport.

Skygear...since you're passing so much info on the Roof Rack, I figured I'd keep it off your thread since it might benefit more than just me...:D

You mentioned that you planned to replace the front 40" and put 2 x 20", and 1 x 10" in a triangle pattern. Is that so you can use the lights as a wind deflector? I'm concerned about not having the wind deflector and getting wind/buffeting noise. Do you think you would get enough wind deflection with single row lights?

I currently have a 50" radius light bar, but was thinking of creating new brackets to work with the rack. It would sit low and in front of the rack which is where it sat prior to installing the rack. Fairly optimal placement. I think I might try a few options with that before I jump ship to smaller light bars. I'll keep you in the loop with that project...:)

Thanks for the enormous amount of help and pics!!
