Tall truck - antenna

Hi,

I was in a parking garage in Boston and the flippin antenna kept hitting the ceiling supports - It's not like I have a lift or anything. What worries me is when my OEM roof rack is on, hopefully it will be lower than the antenna! Anyone else experience this? Unfortunately, I have to use this garage a few times per month.

 

Yup I hate the tall antenna. Search on there, there is a thread that everyone was posting what antenna they have and why they like it or don't.. The Honda S2000 is a good choice.

 

Most garages around here this happens to me too. At least you know that nothing should be close to the height of that antenna, or off it comes. That height bar when you enter should be a few inches lower then the actual pillars. You'll know pretty quick if it's an issue.

 

Most likely your roof rack will be below the top of the antenna. I've got a shell with a 3" rise and my antenna hits, the shell clears. While hitting the pillars every day when I park is annoying, I won't go to a shorter antenna because the antenna hitting will always make me double check, saving me from a potentially expensive mistake.

I guess if it doesn't hurt the antenna too much - had to park on the 5th floor and was hitting about 6x per floor - I coulda slowed down too.... When I have skis up there, that could definitely be a problem...

 

I wouldn't even attempt to go into that garage with skis on your roof rack if the antenna is hitting.

 

Just joking, I'd never do that - hoping the rack would still fit during winter....

Just sell me your roof rack, done deal..no more worries.

 

Just cut your stock antenna down a little- remove the ball end cap, cut what you want off, then re glue the ball end on, a shot of black paint... done!
