Hey guys New to the Forum finally got my truck been saving for months. Im looking for help, dont know what performance upgrades to make, wanna do the basics (what ever that includes) for better gas mileage and a better ride when i go camping. I know everyone is saying to replace air filter with an AFE pro dry but cant find them for '12 model, any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance guys!

Get a scangauge II or an ultragauge so you can monitor your driving habits in real time, change all your fluids to synthetic, drive like you have an egg underneath your gas pedal, and yes change your air filter and remove your secondary one too....

For a better ride, do you want to lift or stay at stock height?

Unless I'm mistaken, there was not a design change in the air filter housing between '11 and '12 so an AFE filter meant for a pre '12 4.0 V6 Tacoma should still fit your '12.

When you go camping do you carry lots of gear? If so then you should look into Dakar leaf packs for the rear and some OME coils and shocks up front.

Removing secondary filter does nothing for the V6. AFEs are alright, but might allow more dust through especially in severe environs. Stock is a good air filter. Ditto with stock oil filter.
