So there is tons of good abs disable tech/wiring threads already going, so why not add another?

I have dug through every one of them until my eyes were puking. This is what i came up with for disabling my ABS in a low tech, no frills, I don't even know the right names for the wires and connectors write up. with pics.

I honestly cant remember which thread I got this info off, But I do want to extend a warm wet hug to the guys that have poured over manuals, wiring diagrams and fried many fuzes to finally put together an easy mod for this. thank you

    so the specifics:
the truck started out as a 2007 double cab sport, no factory locking diff, no traction control.

this mod allows the driver to disable and enable the ABS withOUT having to restart the truck, it works in real time.

    all you need is
    a few ft of wire,
    wire cutters/stripper
a 3 pole switch of any flavor
    some butt connecters
    beer...

first, pull the pocket out of the dash on the drivers left side, the one that lets you access the fuses.

    next

    locate this plug:

pull that plug out and fish it out of the bottom of the console

Then cut the light green wire next to the white one with the black stripe

(this pic was taken with the connector hooked up, I had to run a quick errand in the middle of this.)

now take the side of the wire that goes back into the wiring harness and do whatever you have to do using wire and butt connectors, or solder, or tape or whatever and connect it into the middle pole of the switch

I only had black wire so i painted 1 or 2 stripes around the wire for identification.

then take and connect one of the outside poles again by any way that suits you, to the connector side of the green wire.

and last, ground the last outer pole of the switch.

stuff everything back in its hole and go find a dirt road and slam on the brakes with the switch on, then do it again with the switch off for the "piece of mind final check"

On the dash you with see the ABS light turn on when the abs is disabled, and back off when abs is enabled, also you will see the "rear differential locked" emblem on the console light up with the abs light as well, even if your truck never came with a factory locking diff.

Think this mod would also disable traction control and all that BS? I kind of wonder where it makes the locker light come on. Although I wonder if it will interfere with my locker...

Any of the TRD Off Road guys should be able to answer that. This mod mimicks locker engagement, so whatever is disabled with the locker engaged will be disabled by this mod.

I have read a lot about abs disable! I have 2011 4x4 4doors auto trans, VSC, no diff lock, now I am running without abs fuse, I think this way discribed here will be the essy way for me? and will do the same as running without fuse! do you agree?

Hate to be a buzzkill, but can't you roast your tires by just holding down the VSC button for 5 seconds??

I'm still not entirely sure what difference the ABS killswitch makes when off-roading. I don't think I've ever felt the ABS kick in under my foot or on the dash while wheelin'.

Yeah, I've had the abs put me in the creek and almost in the ditch while turning a corner. ABS sucks.

Abs, that's stuff is evil! It activated if only one wheel was at all in the air or sliding, then you can just kiss any chance of immediately stopping goodbye
