3" Lifts?

What are good reliable 3" lift kits for a '12? I'm planning on putting 285/65/18 Trail Grapplers under it.. Dealership says I can't go any higher or it'll void my warranty.. Any suggestions?

Occasional trail riding nothing extreme
not bizarre but maybe a 1,000 range
not too much hauling or towing, maybe a 4 wheeler or jet ski but thats it

 

If you have a grand to drop on it i would go with the OME setup with the 885x coils, ideally get the dakar leaf pack too(i cant remember how much they are), but an AAL will do too. Also if you have the spare change pick up a set of light racing UCA's and your gonna have one of the best 1000 dollar lifts you can get.

 

I would vote for Coilovers in the front

 

i really like the toytec ultimate lift. it comes with everything you need to lift your truck balstein 5100's front and rear and the front coils are adjustable. it rides great, well worth the money if you are looking to keep the smooth ride. plus it is great for off road and on road. i run BFG KM2's 285/70/17 with no rubbing. 0 offset on wheels

 

How high do you want to lift ?

thanks. the KM2's were actually a tire i was looking hard at but ive decided to go with the Trail Grapplers. i just don't know if the 285/70/18 would be pushing it with the lift you're talking about. ive looked at the toytec lifts and they look reliable and like i said i wont be doing any aggressive offroading anyways

i looked at those also when i was looking for a tire. i went with the KM2's because there over all performance and ratings.

 

If you get the OME lift from toytec, you are going to be in for about $1300 assuming you dont need new UCA's and you can do the install. With a double cab, I think you will be about 2.5 inches(Oz, correct me if I am wrong here.) If you need UCA's the light racing ones will run you about another $400. There's quite a few guys on here that run this setup and seem more than satisfied with it. Toytec is the best price on this at the moment, all things considered. I'll give you a heads up that just because the kit looks cheaper somewhere else, dont mean it is. I had a kit from wheelers ordered cause the kit was quite a bit cheaper, but the shipping and assembling the coils was outrageous. Luckily somebody started a thread about getting a kit from toytec and I did a little better comparison.

 

The OP could probably get away with an AAL rather than the Dakars as he says he doesn't haul or tow and put that money toward the UCA's

885's , no top plate spacer , will get a DC 2 1/2" - 3"

 

I agree with the other guys. Go check out Toytec lifts. Stay away from spacers or body lifts especially if you have a grand to drop.

 

True, so that would knock off about $450 off the OME ki9t from toytec, so for the same money he could have UCA's.

 

thanks alot it helped out. but what about the rear options? when i scroll down there are so many drop down bar i get lost. stick with the add-a-leafs standards? what difference does the top plate spacer do?

Get the normal AAL or if you got the TSB leaf pack done get the TSB AAL option. The top plate spacer makes the front end a true 3" lift... It's recommended that you will need new UCA's with the top plate spacers added, you could get away with running OEM (stock) UCA's without the top plate spacers and get a good alignment. The new coils that come with the OME lifts are the 885x and they don't sag over time like the old 885s did.
